Deliverables

Dunamis Group provided Final Trim WET Grader Hire Services to support a regional road upgrade project in Western Australia. Scope of works included:

• Boxing out the existing shoulder and widening the existing carriageway
• Balancing variable thickness basecourse gravel overlay to existing road and passing lanes to achieve a 40mm compacted overbuild above finished design levels
• Precision final trimming to specified design tolerances
• Preparing the surface for bitumen sealing

Achieved Results

• Delivered the project on time and successfully avoided delays from the approaching winter wet season
• Achieved final trim grade tolerances as per design specifications
• Produced a surface texture suitable for sealing, ensuring optimal adhesion and pavement performance
• Maintained strong collaboration between crews, adapting to wet weather challenges without compromising safety or quality

Challenges & Solutions

• Live Traffic Environment – Works were completed under live traffic conditions on a public road. Strict traffic management and communication protocols were implemented to ensure worker and public safety.
• Wet Weather Risk – The project occurred late in the construction season, requiring strategic sequencing to protect the pavement from moisture damage and maintain program efficiency.
• Hilly Terrain – The alignment passed through a hilly section with limited visibility. Reliable two-way radio communication was critical for coordinating machinery movements around corners and grades, ensuring operational safety.
