Dunamis Construction Group was founded by someone who started at the bottom of this industry and worked every level of it before building something of his own.
From the ground up — Michael Palmer, Founder & Managing Director
I’ve been working in civil construction since I was 18 years old — starting as a plant operator and working my way through every level of the industry over the next 18 years.
Growing up around Palmer Civil Construction gave me an early appreciation for what it takes to deliver work properly. From the ground up I learned that the fundamentals matter — the right people, the right equipment, and an unwavering commitment to doing the job to specification.
Progressing through supervisory, operations, and project management roles before taking on general management, and later a contract and business unit management position at Downer EDI, gave me a broad understanding of civil construction across project types, scales, and environments.
In 2022 I founded Dunamis Construction Group with a clear purpose — to build a business that delivers civil and mining infrastructure to a consistently high standard, treats its people well, and operates with integrity in everything it does.
We’re proud of what the team has built in a short period of time. We hold ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications, we’ve delivered projects from the Pilbara to the Wheatbelt, and we maintain a safety record and employee retention rate that reflects the culture we’ve worked hard to build.
There’s still plenty of road ahead. But the foundations are solid and the team is strong — and that’s what matters most.

Why Dunamis?
The name comes from ancient Greek — dunamis means power, potential, and ability. It reflects the standard we hold ourselves to: the strength to deliver under pressure, the capability to perform consistently, and the will to do it properly every time.
